Count every source and required output before comparing controls

List each microphone, instrument feed, playback device, and other source that must enter the mixer. Then identify the main outputs, monitor sends, recording feeds, or other destinations the production plan calls for. That inventory gives the product list a real frame of reference.

The current assignments include compact Yamaha and Mackie analog mixers, rack-format choices, and Behringer and Yamaha digital products. Leave working room in the channel plan, but do not select a larger console without also considering who will operate it and how it will connect to the rest of the system.

  • Inputs

Count microphones, instruments, playback devices, and any other independent source that needs its own connection.

  • Outputs

Document the main system, monitors, recording, or additional destinations required by the event plan.

  • Control access

Match the needed faders, routing, and processing workflow to the person who will operate the mixer.

Digital audio mixer at a conference production control position
A conference control position asks different questions than a compact stage setup

Choose the mixer around the operator and event workflow

A mixer can sit beside a small performance area, at a rack position, or at a production control location away from the stage. Note where the operator will work, how sources reach that position, and which changes must be made during the event.

Handling also varies within this catalog. One assigned digital mixer is marked as requiring a technician, and the X32 Rack is not marked for pickup, while several compact products follow a simpler listed path. Use the live product card for the selected model instead of assuming every mixer has the same staffing or fulfillment option.

  • Operator

Name who will mix the event and whether that person is familiar with the requested analog or digital workflow.

  • Control position

Plan where the mixer sits and how audio connections travel between that location and the stage or presentation area.

  • Handling path

Check the live product card for pickup restrictions or technician requirements tied to that exact model.

Build the input list

Review microphones and band cables as separate inputs to the live-sound plan, or use the dedicated DJ mixer page when the job is a DJ performance rather than a band or presentation workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about analog and digital choices, channel planning, operator fit, technician requirements, and pickup differences.

Does this page include both analog and digital mixers?

Yes. The current assigned products include compact analog mixers, rack-format equipment, and digital mixer options. Review the live cards because channel count, control format, pickup, and technician requirements vary by model.

How many mixer channels do I need for a live event?

Count each microphone, instrument feed, playback device, and other source that needs an independent input. Also list the required outputs and leave practical working room; the right channel count depends on the complete source-and-destination plan.

Should I choose an analog or digital mixer?

Choose around the operator, routing and processing needs, control position, and the rest of the audio system. A familiar compact analog workflow can suit one plan, while another may call for the routing and control approach of a digital product.

Can these mixers be used for a conference as well as a band?

The catalog includes products described for live sound and presentation or conference uses. Suitability depends on the actual microphone count, playback sources, outputs, operator, and room plan rather than the event label alone.

Do all mixer rentals require a technician?

No single rule applies to every assigned product. The Yamaha DM3S record is marked as requiring a technician, while other current mixer records are not. Check the selected product card and the complexity of the complete system.

Can every mixer on this page be picked up?

Pickup status varies. Several compact mixers are marked for pickup, while the current Behringer X32 Rack record is not. Confirm the live handling option for the exact mixer before completing the order.

We used Miami Sound Rental for a conference we were sponsoring. They were the perfect choice for the role. Easy to work with and arrived on time. Quick and efficient. We had to change a few things the week before the event and they were able to accommodate our changes with no issue.
